The Pointe Park in Pascagoula is another of those spots worthy

of a quick visit in migration or winter. There is an excellent view of the Mississippi Sound and a good stretch of salt water marsh on the north side. This site also overlooks the mouth of the east channel of the Pascagoula River. Any spot with fishing activity is bound to attract gulls, including an occasional rarity. On the south side there are rock jetties where American Oystercatcher and other shorebirds can be found in season. Watch for waterbirds in the river and the adjacent open water of the sound.
