Turkey Creek Nature Area is owned and managed by the

Mt. Pleasant United Methodist Church and is an excellent piece of wilderness tucked into the urban setting of Gulfport, Mississippi. This area consists of bottomland hardwood forests, bayhead swamps, and southern mixed hardwood forests that border the lower reach of Turkey Creek. The site supports a rich variety of common woodland and bottomland species, wading birds, and migrants during both spring and fall migration. Open from dawn to dusk, this site is an excellent migrant trap.
